Coming up this weekend is the Mattapan Bike-a-Thon, sponsored and organized by the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition, a nonprofit health and fitness organization which strives to bring access to healthy food and physical fitness to the residents of this ethnically and culturally diverse neighborhood of Boston.
We here at Urban AdvenTours are proud to sponsor this event with a donation of 10 rental bikes for the ride, so that even folks who don’t have bikes can come on a ride around the neighborhood and experience the joy of cycling in the city.
The day will start at 9 o’clock in Walker Playground (near Mildred Avenue), and include a quick safety lesson followed by a bike ride around some of the cycling trails in Mattapan, with more cycling activities and a special kids’ event afterwards.
