Lifecycle of a UA Bike

Hybrid Bike Rental Image 1

As the weather begins to cool, we’re already starting to set our sights on next summer. And you know what that means….new bikes!

While one of our favorite things about a bicycle is its longevity: in addition to helping protect the environment by providing a human-powered transportation method, quality bicycles also reduce the waste cycle because, if you take care of them, they’ll last practically forever! Over at Urban Cycles, we’re always excited to hear the stories of some of the older bikes that get brought in for repair, bikes originally belonging to friends, neighbors, parents, and even grandparents!

Still, in order to keep our tour and products up to date and functioning in tip-top fashion, we cycle the bikes (pun intended) through our rental fleet over the course of a few years to keep everything fresh. And as we begin building up new bikes for next season, we thought we’d take this opportunity to share a little bit about the lifecycle of our Kona rental bikes!

Step 1: The Bike in the Box

Step 2: Build that Bike!

Step 3: Add “Fixin’s”: Fenders, Stickers, Kickstands, etc.

Step 4: Join the Fleet

Step 5: Ride!
