Are you ready to really bike Boston?

It’s been a great weekend of big tours and awesome rides. Sunday morning I delivered a bunch of bikes out to Topsfield for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts’ Ride with the Champions. This ride partners those with intellectual disabilities with athletic coaching and training to help then uncover all of their potential. It’s a great cause and Urban AdvenTours was happy to participate and we’ve even made our first appearance on some cycling jerseys.

First returnees after their route.

Now that we’ve headed back into the week, you can count on a bunch of preparation for Hub on Wheels. The big cycling celebration starts off on Saturday, September 26 with the first annual Mayor’s Cup, a professional race featuring U.S. Olympians and Champion riders. After the race the party continues with a concert and all kinds of local bike friendly vendors, and bike valet provided by yours truly.

Then Sunday, the 27th is the big ride when Storrow gets closed down and the whole city can come out and ride together. If you don’t have a bike we’ve still got rentals available, and what better time to come to show City Hall how important biking is to the development of Boston. What could be a better way to decrease traffic and pollution while increasing health and sustainability? We certainly think biking is the best answer.
