Looking for something to do on Mother’s Day? The second annual Christina Clarke Genco Foundation Mother’s Day Memorial Ride is this Sunday, May 12, 2013, and open for registration!
In support of the Christina Clarke Genco Foundation, this ride commemorates Christina’s memory after her life was cut short by a tragic accident. Christina committed herself to helping others and this ride looks to provide funds for two organizations she was passionate about: Bike & Build as well as Habitat for Humanity. Continuing where Christina left off, the ride is trying to raise money for both bike safety and affordable housing projects. Anyone who has been on a bike knows how important it is to increase bike awareness and who doesn’t love a great cause like Habitat for Humanity?
There is an option for anyone interested in riding from elite cyclists to families, with a 68-mile route, 34-mile route, 17-mile route, and 3.4-mile ride. Each route leaves from Newton City Hall in Newton, MA.
A bike safety clinic will be provided along with music, prizes, and food at the event for anyone interested. If you don’t think you can take part in the ride but still want to get involved there is always the option to donate or volunteer.
If you are interested in taking part in this great cause but aren’t comfortable on a road bike, our shop offers Thursday evening training rides. It’s a little late to get more than one in before the ride but you can always start getting ready for next year!
We are offering a couple specials for anyone taking part in this ride: 15% discounted rentals in our shop and a 50% discount on bike shipping. Call us at 617-670-0637 to reserve your bike.
