Urban AdvenTours is a locally owned small business located in Boston’s North End, offering bicycle tours and rentals as well as a full-service sales and repair shop.
Bike Mechanics at Urban AdvenTours work in a fast-paced environment on a wide range of projects and tasks, including customer repair bikes, maintaining our extensive rental fleet, and unboxing, building, boxing and shipping bikes for charity and other bicycling events. As a downtown commuter shop, we see all kinds of bikes come through the shop, from cheaper utility hybrid bikes to high-end titanium road bikes with S&S couplers.
We are looking to hire qualified candidates to assist with bicycle repairs and sales. All mechanics will work directly with our Service Manager and will work on-site as well as work at off-site events on occasion. The workload will be split between repairing customer bicycles, repairing rental bicycles, and sales in our bike shop. Applicants should be skilled at multitasking and prioritization with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Previous mechanic experience required. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be guest service oriented, take direction well, be flexible, and eager to learn new things.
We are currently hiring both full- and part-time positions. Full-time employees have the opportunity for salary or hourly compensation.
We are flexible with hours, but we do require a set schedule.

Compensation based on experience and technical ability. Hourly compensation for qualified mechanics ranges from $15-$25/hour, while salaried compensation will typically be between $45,000 and $75,000, again based upon experience and technical availability.
Paid time off and health benefits (salaried employees only)
