Road Bike Rentals

Want to take a longer ride? Feel the rush of wind through your helmet? Carve corners on the open road and sprint down the straightaways? Don’t go through the hassle of packing your road bike when you come to Boston – take one of ours out for a spin!

We are happy to offer the four models below from Giant for rent. All road bikes are freshly tuned, include flat kits* and available in a wide range of sizes to suit almost any rider.

Aluminum/Carbon

Defy_1
The Giant Defy 1 is our basic road bike offering – with an aluminum frame, carbon fork and seatpost, and Shimano 105 drivetrain, this bike will have you cruising all day without breaking the bank. It’s built for comfort, so you can explore the twists and turns of New England’s beautiful countryside without the ache in your back the next day.

Full-Carbon

Defy_Advanced
The Full-Carbon Giant Defy Advanced is just like the Defy 1, but a little bit more. The full-carbon frame shaves some weight and makes the ride even more comfortable than the aluminum. But the real difference comes when you put your foot down – the stiffness of the carbon makes this bike’s ride incredibly responsive, smooth, and nimble.

TCR
Our Premium road bike offering is the Giant TCR Advanced 2. This race-bred, full-carbon, Ultegra-equipped machine is fast, smooth, and looks awesome! The intricately crafted, full-carbon frame ensures a responsive, nimble ride on the road, and the massive Powercore BB30 ensures maximum power transfer through your entire pedal stroke. If you want the best of the best, take the TCR out for a ride!

Performance Plus: Di2

TCR_Advanced_0_Pro_compact
Hold on to your helmets, ladies and gentlemen. We are proud to introduce our ultra-premium rental, equipped with Shimano’s Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting group. It comes with all the ride characteristics of our Performance rental (above) plus the perfection of a bike that knows what gear it’s in, and knows how to shift perfectly, every time.

If you have a Di2 bike at home and are traveling to Boston, you can even send us your personal setup data, and we’ll input it into your rental bike so that it feels just right from the moment you get on the bike. No packing your personal bike, no worrying about your carbon being crushed under the plane or bus or train.

Our Standard rental bike is the Giant TCR Advanced, but other similar models may be substituted if inventory requires.

Accessories and Add-ons

Pedals
Since we know that many people are particular about their pedals, we are happy to install your pedal of choice for free if you bring them with you, or rent you a pair of our SPD, SPD-SL, or Look Keo pedals for just $20. If you aren’t picky, flat or toe cage pedals are available for no extra charge. We are currently unable to rent shoes, but have a full stock of Mavic and Shimano shoes at the shop if you need some new ones!

Car racks
Need to get to a race or ride? We have car racks available for rental as well! We have 3 and 5 bike racks for just $50 for up to 3 days, or $100 for up to a week. Racks fit most makes and models of car, but please call or stop by early if you are unsure.

*Flat Kits
Flat kits are included on all our road and mountain rentals for your convenience. Each flat kit includes materials to fix two flat tires. At the end of your rental, you will be charged regular retail prices for any tubes or other materials you used during your rental.

Please note:
While we will try to provide for any special requests in regards to brands of bikes, we cannot guarantee these requests. During busy periods, we may substitute Masi or other manufacturers road bikes for our regularly offered Giant road bikes. We guarantee that the alternate bike provided will be of equal or better quality and componentry to the one that you reserve.

Shop Ride

Join us every Thursday afternoon to roll out with the UA crew. We’ll meet up at 5:30 at the shop to ride at 6PM for a 20 to 30 mile loop. The pace will be athletic, but not a race, and we’ll be sure to keep the group together.

Just getting into riding? We’ll have road bikes available for demos! Your first demo is free, so even if you have your own bike, you can try one of ours out, risk-free. Subsequent demos are $25 for your second time, $50 on your third, and full price thereafter. If you decide you like your bike enough to add it to your stable, we’ll use your demo price as a credit towards your purchase.
