Rental Accessories

We rent more than just bikes! We want your rental experience in Boston to be just like riding your own bike back home – or even better! Whether you need a car rack to take some bikes to the Cape or need that final bit to make your trip perfect, we’ve got what you need.

The accessories listed below are available for rental individually or in addition to one of our bike rentals! Please note that if you are renting an accessory for your personal bike, we may charge a small installation fee. Please call us directly to make a reservation!

Helmets and Locks

We’ve all been there – you packed everything except the most important thing. Never fear, though, we have plenty of helmets, bike locks, and cables on hand for rental.

Rate: $10 per 24 hours for each item. Cables included with lock rental.
Remember, all our rentals include helmets and locks – you don’t need to purchase them separately!

Pedals

We know that proper pedals are one of the most crucial parts of a bike’s functionality – if you don’t have the right pedals, the bike just won’t feel as good. That’s why we offer clipless pedals for rent with our higher end rental bikes. Any of our Road and Mountain bikes can be outfitted with SPD, SPD-SL, or Look Keo pedals. Pedal rentals are not available on hybrid, kids, or tandem bikes. We regret that we cannot rent shoes, but we do have a wide selection of Mavic and Shimano shoes available for purchase at our shop.

Rate: $20 1-time fee with road/mountain rental
Without rental: $30 for up to 3 days, $50 for up to 7 days

Car racks

Need to get to a race or ride? Want to take the bikes down to the Cape for the weekend? We have car racks available for rental as well! Our racks are made by Saris, and fit either 3 or 5 bikes. Racks fit most makes and models of car, but please call or stop by early if you are unsure.

Rate: $50 for up to 3 days, $100 for up to a week.

Trailer Bikes

These contraptions, sometimes called tag-alongs, trail-a-bikes, tandems, or half-wheelers, are a perfect solution for kids who are too big for a child seat, but not quite able to ride a bike on their own. They attach to the seatpost of an adult’s bike, and have a set of handlebars and pedals for little ones to use while riding. Many parents even feel that their children are pushing them during the ride!

Rate: $35 per 24 hours. Please note: we reserve the right to refuse installation on a personal bike if we determine it to be unsafe.

Burley Trailers

These (literally) burly trailers are versatile and rugged. They can be used to carry up to 100lbs of children or cargo, and attach securely to the rear end of most bicycles. It’s low to the ground for balance, brightly colored, and marked with flags for safety. The Burley’s uses are endless – it’s been used to carry catering platters, school supplies, pets, and was even spotted in the Boston Pride Parade being used as a small float!

Rate: $50 per 24 hours. Please note: we reserve the right to refuse installation on a personal bike if we determine it to be unsafe.
