Who’s excited for Boston Marathon weekend? Who’s not excited for getting around the city during marathon weekend? We thought so….

Whether you’re actually running in the race or not, the Boston Marathon can be a transportation and logistical challenge.

Tens of thousands of runners (and up to a million friends, supporters and other spectators!) will flood Greater Boston’s major roadways throughout the weekend.

One option, of course, is public transportation. (The MBTA has developed a special schedule just for Marathon Monday.) The T, however, also experiences an enormous increase in riders during Marathon weekend, which can create major delays and added frustration.

So, what’s the solution here? Well, we’d like to throw our hat into the ring of suggestions. Why not rent a bike for all your traveling needs? Think about it: bikes can get you anywhere, at any time. You won’t be trapped in traffic, or on a sweaty and crowded train or bus, and bikes don’t need gas, tickets, or passes to get you on your way.

(And, pssst… we’ll even let you in on a little secret. Visit our website to find out how you can get $5 your marathon bike rental.)

Whether you’re a family member or friend of a runner, a tourist wanting to take part in this time-honored tradition, or a local who just wants to get to their neighborhood Whole Foods, an Urban AdvenTours bike rental might just be the perfect solution for all your Marathon weekend needs.
