Bike Travel Film Festival 5/20/13

Bike Month 2013 is underway and with it numerous events, all focused on cyclists and cycling!  The 4th Annual Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival is just one of these interesting events.

The only film festival of its kind in the United States, the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival showcases independent films depicting adventure, humor, and personal growth found through various experiences in bicycling.  This year’s festival is presenting 12 short films which span the globe in terms of content (from the North Shore to India).

The films for this year look really interesting!  One of the many featured films is The New Woman: Annie ‘Londonderry’ Kopchovsky, depicting a  23-year old Boston mother of three who endeavored to cycle the globe in 1984 within 15 months.  Check out the trailer:

The festival is on May 20th at The Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA.  Social hour begins at 6pm, featuring a Cookie Showcase drawn from local bakeries.  Films begin at 7pm and run until 10pm.  During intermission a “Great Jersey Giveaway” raffle will take place, the winner will receive personal bike clothing.  One attendee will also win a free Ciclismo Classico bicycle vacation valued at over $2,500!  Proceeds from the events go towards Massbike and other local charities.

Tickets are priced at $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  Urban AdvenTours has two promotional tickets up for grabs!  To win just tag Urban AdvenTours on Facebook in your favorite bike travel photo.  We will pick a winner on May 17th and let you know through Facebook, so get your entries in before 12 pm that Friday!
