The UA crew always pushes for the best. We like to think we rent some of the best bikes. Our tours have all the best routes and interesting content. Our mechanics give the best tunes. Our downtown shop has all the gear and bikes that are best for our customers. We’re not trying to brag or anything, it’s just a level of excellence that we reach for and hope to someday attain.
So when we get an email from TripAdvisor, one of the largest travel websites in the world, telling us we’re doing a good job, it’s hard not to boast just a little. So here it is, our “Certificate of Excellence for 2011.” Share it with your friends. If you’ve ridden with us, write a review! Or if you helped us earn this fine rating, give yourself a pat on the back too!
“TripAdvisor awards this certificate to properties who consistently receive excellent ratings from our members. We think your 5 rating is something to be proud of and we hope you do too.”
Ladies and Gentlemen, the results are in! Not only has Urban AdvenTours conquered the MassCommuter Challenge with a first place for most miles commuted:

But we’ve also had Biggest Loser contestant Elizabeth Ruiz out on one of our bike rentals to help support the North Shore Tour de Cure:

It’s been a pretty exciting bike month and we have a whole summer’s worth of events coming up too. Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and we’re getting ready for it with our first ever MySecretBoston Bicycle Tour! Join us on Friday, May 27th to enjoy a rather different tour of Boston, focused entirely on the lesser-known details and hidden nooks and crannies. Give us a call to reserve your spot on this special edition tour, $10 per ticket or $25 with a bike rental.
While we’d all love some warm, sunny days, this isn’t our first spring in New England. We’re geared up for riding in all kinds of weather, and Bay State Bike Week has certainly been putting us to the test this year. We’ve had some damp tours, but those shiny green fenders on our Dew Bostons are proving they’re more than just a bright splash of color.

Clean, dry riders even on a muddy bike trail. Thanks fenders!
Bike Week wraps up a bit with Mayor Menino’s Boston Bike Week Festival. Join a convoy tomorrow morning to ride into City Hall Plaza, hang out with your favorite bike friends and grab some free breakfast.
Due to some of this off-putting weather MassBike rescheduled the metro-Boston area’s Ride of Silence to next Tuesday, May 24th. The purpose of the Ride of Silence is to draw attention to bicyclist safety. Please join us that evening at 6:45pm in Seven Hills Park behind the Davis Square MBTA Station. RVSP to rides@massbike.org so they know how many people to expect. For more information, read the original Ride of Silence post.
