Join Urban AdvenTours on Friday, April 17th to celebrate the 240th anniversary of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride! This was a hit last year so we’re doing it again, and we hope to see even more of you this time. A huge thank-you to the bike advocates in Somerville, Medford, Arlington, Lexington and Concord for their support and ridership on this event!
We will be meeting at our shop, 103/109 Atlantic Avenue at 7:30pm for the 26 mile ride to Concord. This road paced ride is FREE and open to all but is also UNSUPPORTED. Please bring your bike, helmet, lights and anything else you need to ride for the next 2.5 hours. A BRIGHT (200+ lumen) front light is recommended, but your leader will have an 1800 lumen lantern, so fear not.
Can’t make the 7:30pm departure? You can meet us at 8:00pm in Medford Square or at 8:45pm at Arlington Center.
Check back as the date approaches for a printable cue sheet for riders.
Want to join but don’t have a bike? We will be offering $5 off rentals for all participants. Rentals must be reserved in advance and picked up between 4:30 – 6:30pm on Friday night and returned between 9am – 12pm on Saturday April 18th. All rentals include locks and helmets. Call 617-670-0637 to reserve and be sure to mention the ride when booking!
Riders can either take the 11:15pm Commuter Rail from Concord back to Boston or ride back to Boston for a 52 mile round trip ride. The train fare is $8.50 when prepaid at a farebox.
Updates will be forthcoming, so keep a watch on our Facebook for the latest news and changes!
If you have a Garmin Edge or equivalent Garmin GPS unit, download the route below and you can follow along. Please note that the actual ride will digress from this route in some areas due to the “midnight” nature of the ride. The Minuteman Bikeway and Battle Road are very dark at night, so the ride will stick to main roads instead.
