Urban AdvenTours is a unique, eco-friendly company in Boston that provides original bicycle tours, quality bike rentals, full service repairs and a versatile line of bicycles and commuter oriented accessories. Since 2004 we’ve been showing locals and visitors the best way to experience Boston – on two wheels! Andrew Prescott’s idea to offer exciting, eco-friendly city cycling tours has grown expansively since he started offering them out of his apartment. From partnering with local bike shops to opening our own retail location in 2010, Urban AdvenTours continues to be a resource for those looking to bike Boston.
Our team is what makes Urban AdvenTours the fun and friendly place it is today. We are Boston residents, bicycle aficionados, lovers of architecture, history, culture and travel. We are students, retirees, local alumni, young professionals and native Bostonians. We are committed to a 21st century bicycle revolution. Bicycling, for transportation and pleasure, is our lifestyle. We stay in the saddle whether we are commuting to work or riding for fun. We want to share that passion with you.
We also want to share our love of Boston and all of it’s neighborhoods with you. From our favorite bakeries in the South End, slices of pizza in the North End, or brew pubs in Back Bay to live music in Cambridge or galleries in Fort Point, our team loves nothing more than to share our city’s hidden gems with you. There’s an awful lot to explore beyond the Freedom Trail, and we’re happy to point you in the right direction. Think of us as your own “Bike Concierge.” We want you to experience the best that Boston has to offer.

Urban AdvenTours has shared our high-quality, professional and distinctive tours of Boston with thousands of customers from all around the world, who understand that the best way to experience this great city is on two wheels. We also help riders stay on the road every day with quick help from the handy mechanics in our bike shop. Need new apparel, a tune-up or a new bicycle? Our team is here to help you find the equipment that is right for you.
We’re working to bring cycling to everyone by getting residents and visitors on bikes and to make bicycling a viable mode of transportation in Boston. Not only will you have a great time on our tours, but you’ll also be doing yourself and the world a service. Bikes are a fun, safe way to “burn carbs, not carbon.” You make an active healthy choice to travel by bike, but you also make a smart sustainable one to bail on the buses and boats that create harmful emissions.
We are a locally owned, independent and green company. So, everything we do is with sustainability in mind – from re-purposing used furniture and retail supplies, to finding carpet made from recycled materials – we’re keeping it green. For bicycle delivery, we roll the same way. The BioBus runs on recycled vegetable-oil as it visits Boston area hotels and local events. We’ve also been awarded Bike Friendly Business awards from both the City of Boston and the League of American Bicyclists.
We’re members of the Sustainable Business Network and seek out like-minded companies as partners. Pedro’s biodegradable bike care products and Zipcar’s hybrid cars are just two of the many great things other local businesses are doing to make our world a better place. In the end that’s really what we’re about- improving Boston and our customers’ experience, one bike ride at a time.
